Job Description:
  • Performs semi-skilled and unskilled maintenance and repairs in accordance with industry/trade practices.
  • Provides daily maintenance support to building users through responses to calls for service, scheduled preventative maintenance inspections, and similar services.
  • Performs tasks not limited to minor plumbing, changing filters, and light bulbs.
  • Light carpentry tasks to include replacing ceiling tiles, patching and painting flooring materials such as VCT, plank, and carpet tiles, stair treads, and minor decorative maintenance.
  • Performs scheduled preventative maintenance and unscheduled or special work.
  • Paint walls and/or equipment and make minor painting repairs. 
  • Inspect all mechanical and electrical equipment in machine rooms - operate and/or test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
  • Enter maintenance data via the work order system for work requests (WR) and time. Clean and maintain shop, work areas, and personal equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and promote safety and environmental protection by immediately reporting unsafe situations, spills, and accidents.
  • Follow University safety plans/procedures/protocols, and participate in appropriate safety training.
  • Assists with room refurbishing to include patching walls, doorways, and casework.
  • Drives a state vehicle that requires a valid driver's license.
Expected Salary:

Expected starting salary $15-$16, hourly bases on experience.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor and positive attitude.
  • Basic knowledge and/or ability to use computers and tablets.
  • Ability to multitask while staying on schedule.
  • The person in this position must be physically able to lift/move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • The position requires a valid driver's license.
