Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor

M.D. or D.O. degree or equivalent. Board Certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, and current Florida medical license or eligibility is required. 

The University of Florida Department of Community Health and Family Medicine (CHFM) is seeking a Family Medicine physician (MD/DO) to join the UF Health Family Medicine Jonesville Clinic in Gainesville. This is a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, with rank commensurate with qualifications and experience. 

The selected candidate will provide direct patient care in an ambulatory setting while contributing to the department's educational mission. Teaching responsibilities include working with University of Florida College of Medicine medical students and Family Medicine residents during clinical rotations, when applicable. Faculty are expected to participate in educational conferences, seminars, and lectures as part of the department's academic activities. 

Clinical Responsibilities

The physician will provide comprehensive primary care services at the UF Health Family Medicine Jonesville Clinic, serving patients across the lifespan. The clinic supports a collaborative, team-based care model that includes physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, a registered nurse health coach, and pharmacist support.

Key responsibilities include: 

1. Delivering high-quality patient care in the primary care clinic
2. Participating in clinic and/or inpatient call rotations, depending on departmental needs and candidate interest
3. Collaborating with and supervising Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) as part of a team-based care model
4. Contributing to departmental service and other faculty responsibilities as assigned

Educational Responsibilities

Faculty are expected to contribute to the educational mission of the department by: 

Salary commensurate with education and experience 

• An M.D. or D.O. degree (or equivalent), board certification or eligible in Family Medicine
• Eligible or have a have a Florida medical license
• Proven experience in providing comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills, with the ability to manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Experience with Electronic Health Record (E.H.R.) systems is essential
