Job Description:

The Department of Health Services Research, Management, and Policy (HSRMP) at the University of Florida invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month position.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong potential for scholarly achievement and securing extramural funding, along with a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentorship. The individual will be expected to develop an independent research agenda while collaborating with faculty across the College of Public Health and Health Professions, the Health Science Center, and affiliated clinical and research partners. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality, innovative instruction across undergraduate and graduate programs, mentoring students and trainees, and contributing to curriculum and program development. The candidate will also engage in service activities at the department, college, and university levels. The department maintains a strong relationship with the UF Health system, providing opportunities for collaboration with health system leaders, clinicians, and policymakers. Expertise in patient safety, quality improvement, and/or healthcare finance are preferred.

Department Overview 

The department is located in the Health Professions, Nursing, and Pharmacy Complex and is part of the top-ranked, accredited College of Public Health and Health Professions. The department has an active and significant research portfolio in diabetes, cancer, and health disparities. We offer an undergraduate minor in Health Administration, a Master of Health Administration, an MPH concentration in Population Health Management and a health services research concentration in the PhD in Public Health Program. Faculty contribute to the undergraduate health science and public health programs through teaching and mentorship. Departmental faculty provide instructional and health services research expertise across diverse health areas, including diabetes, infectious diseases, cancer, and cardiovascular disease.

Expected Salary:

Negotiable based on experience.

Required Qualifications:

A doctoral degree in health services research, health administration, health management, health economics, health policy, public health, or closely related fields.

Preferred:

The well‐qualified candidate will contribute to programmatic growth in the areas of quality and patient safety, including professional certificates and coursework. Demonstrated excellence in teaching, mentorship, and service, and a strong potential for scholarly achievement, including the ability to secure extramural funding, are expected. Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement training is preferred.
