Job Description:

Responsible for implementing comprehensive leadership development and community engagement programming and planning to support student learning and community engagement. The incumbent will leverage partnerships with campus and the community to ensure that students have access to a variety of reputable leadership development and service-learning opportunities for greater student success outcomes. This position stays current with trends, resources, and compliance issues addressing volunteerism, leadership, service, risk management, and incorporates information into the department’s practices. Evolves risk management efforts, waivers, safety and resources for the department and showcases best practices to campus. Leads departmental planning and execution of signature programs/experiences. Collaborates with functional areas across the university to provide and promote coordinated standards of services as it relates to community engagement, volunteerism and leadership development for the institution.

Creates pathways to advance community engagement, volunteerism and leadership development for students, faculty and staff within the university. Engages campus partners (i.e. alumni, staff, faculty, community members) to move forward on the division’s existing strategy for elevating the comprehensively excellent student experience. Partners with academic and co-curricular departments to capture service learning, leadership, volunteerism and other related experiential learning offerings for university-wide reporting and storytelling. Serves as the primary liaison for various units. Works with leadership to support the university’s recertification of the Carnegie Elective for Community Engagement and other designations.

The individual provides coaching, trainings, consultations and meetings to support unit priorities. Creates resources and tools aimed to advance engagement for students and various stakeholders. Develops collateral and web content to highlight departmental data for internal and external stakeholders. Delivers outreach presentations to classes, campus units, and organizations to support success outcomes.

Provides leadership, guidance, and supervision to paraprofessional and professional staff members to support community engagement, service learning and leadership development. The individual will oversee the operations of engagement experiences and programs assigned to ensure best practices are being met by university entities to validate, verify, and share learning opportunities for student success.

Oversees assessments, data tracking and other administrative functions analysis relative to community engagement, leadership and service activities within the unit. Works with the director to manage dashboards for student engagement, stakeholder relations and learning success outcomes. Develops collateral and web content to highlight departmental data for internal and external stakeholders. Provides accurate reports and data related to departmental, divisional and university priorities. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director or other appropriate administrator.

Expected Salary:

$60,000.00

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience or a bachelor’s degree in appropriate areas of specialization and four years of experience.
