Job Description:

The Sr Producer will develop recommendations to enhance the university’s reputation based on those trends and will be required to present and rationalize these recommendations to clients and administrators. This will include the development of content that humanizes the voice of the University of Florida brand and showcase the university’s unique qualities through highly engaging and thought-provoking content used in the context of marketing, news and social media.

This individual will need to envision and contribute to multi-platform marketing and communications strategies and campaigns. The position requires a strong mix of strategic, organizational, creative and technical skills that are necessary to create audience-relevant visual/ audiovisual stories on multiple platforms which may be time-sensitive/under deadlines. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, highly energetic and comfortable working both collaboratively with a team or independently. Motion graphics experience is a plus. Assignments may include filming and editing projects for UF internal and external audiences, as well as securing files and backup systems for all multimedia produced by the department. A strong understanding of digital asset management best practice is important.

Content Creation

  • Assists in developing visual/ audiovisual strategies to support the brand identity and perception of the University of Florida.
  • Meets with SCM leadership and clients to conceptualize and plan solutions to meet institutional and unit goals and objectives.
  • Works with team to develop detailed production design plans/ scopes of work including project storyboards, methodology, deliverables, schedules, staffing, equipment and budgets.
  • Demonstrates the ability to handle all phases of assigned projects from concept through final delivery.
  • Plans, directs, and executes video and photo shoots in studio and on location, including key institutional events, such as commencement and homecoming.
  • Edits and color grades projects using non-linear editing software such as Adobe Premiere, Davinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro X.
  • Keeps current with industry trends, practices and technology to create fresh, exciting and contemporary content and makes recommendations for the visual style and tone of projects. 

 Team/Project Oversight

  • Supervises production specialists and student/OPS workers.
  • Engages freelance support, as needed.
  • Processes written and online requests for video/photo support.
  • Maintains scheduling.
  • Communicates effectively with UF Strategic Communications and Marketing staff, internal and external clients and university officials to ensure effective, relevant and timely completion of assignments.
  • Conducts quality assurance checks on all photo/video team projects, including during partner (internal and external) edit reviews.

Other

  • Transports equipment and/or travels to locations for assignments.
  • Regularly updates online video library to provide visual resources to campus and external partners.
  • Organizes and maintains digital video server archives/research and makes recommendations regarding digital asset management.
  • Tests and researches new equipment, video techniques and trends in visual communications and makes recommendations for visual style and tone of projects.
  • Maintains regular inventories of all video equipment and supplies.
  • Conducts routine equipment maintenance.
  • Other tasks as required.

NOTE: All SCM employees are considered essential and may be required to report to campus during emergencies.  Additionally, this position will require flexibility to accommodate occasional evenings, weekends, and travel.

Expected Salary:

$60,000 - $70,000 

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience in appropriate area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid driver's license. 

Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and three years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere & After Effects, Davinci Resolve & Fusion software and/or Final Cut Pro X.
  • Experience with studio lighting and editing audio.
  • Experience with directing on-camera talent.
  • Strong production and post-production skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Positive, professional attitude.
  • Strong drive and initiative. Self-motivated. Organized.
  • Team-oriented, but able to work independently.
  • Supervisory experience a plus.
