Master's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Define scope, develop work and resource plans, build timelines and budgets, lead meetings, and deliver projects from concept through implementation, including strategic plan and grant projects.
  • Program Development: Support the Museum Director in research, data analysis, and management of special projects; liaise with internal and external stakeholders to achieve museum objectives.
  • Department Management: Directly manages certain departments of the museum, including but not limited to Information Technology.
  • Research & Policy: Conduct research and collect data for the development and/or revision of museum strategic plans, protocols, policies and procedures and makes recommendations to the Museum Director and staff regarding potential policy changes.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as primary contact for external partners including the University of Florida Foundation, AAM, government officials, foundations, and donors.
  • Other Duties: As assigned, maintaining flexibility to support museum operations and initiatives.
Expected Salary:

$82,000-$95,000 

Required Qualifications:
  • Leadership: Proven project‑management experience in a museum or university environment with strong follow‑up capabilities.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for engaging a wide range of contacts internally and externally.
  • Organization: Excellent organizational skills, multi‑tasking ability, and attention to detail; proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and database systems.
  • Professionalism: Ability to represent the museum with integrity, adhere to policies, and support management decisions positively.
Preferred:
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire team collaboration and manage cross‑departmental projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of grant lifecycle management and compliance.
  • Experience in strategic planning and program evaluation within a museum setting.
