The University of Florida Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, part of UF Health, the Southeast's most comprehensive academic health center, invites applicants for a full-time, Tenure/Non-Tenure track, AST/ASO/Full Professor position in Advanced Endoscopy, including Therapeutic and Interventional Endoscopy techniques. Rank and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications.
The ideal applicant will be board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology. Clinical duties would include weekly outpatient clinics, endoscopy, and staffing of the GI inpatient and consult services at UF Health Shands Hospitals. UF Gastroenterology is a regional referral center for Advanced Endoscopy with a state-of-the-art Endoscopy Suite, a leading Interventional and Therapeutic Endoscopy program, and a burgeoning Bariatric Endoscopy program. Multiple collaborative research and clinical trials opportunities exist in the areas of Pancreatic Diseases, GI malignancy, experimental and animal endoscopy, new technology development, obesity, and gut microbiome; including active collaborative research involving Pancreatitis, Diabetes, and Parkinson’s Disease. The Division is the recipient of the U01 - Consortium for the Study of Chronic Pancreatitis, Diabetes and Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Centers; the U01 – Type 1 Diabetes in Acute Pancreatitis Consortium Clinical Centers; and the R01 – Role of Bacteria in Colitis-Associated Colon Cancer, all from the NIH. The program trains 14 fellows per year and education of residents and medical students is also expected. Academic appointment is commensurate with experience.
Joint faculty appointment at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center is possible for the interested candidate.
