Public media organizations WUFT‑TV (PBS), WUFT‑FM (NPR News/Talk), and WUFT.org, part of the University of Florida’s Division of Multimedia Properties within the College of Journalism and Communications, are seeking a strategic and mission‑driven leader to serve as the Director of Revenue Development & Corporate Support.
This senior leadership role is responsible for driving revenue growth and overseeing corporate support, underwriting, and sales strategy across UF’s public media properties. The ideal candidate will bring a forward‑thinking approach to strengthening partnerships, expanding sponsorship opportunities, and advancing the financial sustainability of WUFT’s public‑service mission.
The ideal candidate is an experienced media sales leader who understands both the business and mission of public media. This person should be a strong coach, strategic thinker, relationship builder, and team motivator who can create structure, accountability, and momentum while keeping the work aligned with the University of Florida’s public-service mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee sales, digital sales, underwriting, and corporate support activities for the Division of Multimedia Properties. This includes direct management of sales and traffic staff, development of short- and long-term revenue strategies, assessment of market opportunities, and leadership of the overall sales effort.
- Oversee revenue budgeting, sales forecasting, inventory management, pricing, packaging, account management, sales projects, and ongoing accountability reporting.
- Oversee budgetary responsibilities in partnership with the Director of Finance and Administration which requires careful oversight of revenue performance, accounts receivable, and profits.
- Develop and maintain an ongoing sales-training program, provide individualized coaching when needed, reinforce best practices, and build a high-performance culture grounded in confidence, clarity, accountability, and mission alignment.
- Collaborate with programming, operations, public relations, membership, business office, and external programming partners to support programming, audience development, outreach, educational impact, and revenue opportunities.
- Cultivate strong relationships with advertisers, corporate supporters, community leaders, media partners, agencies, and prospective clients to identify and develop new revenue opportunities.
- Maintain high standards of quality control across revenue-related operations, including oversight of traffic, research, staff performance, morale, and promotional efforts.
- The Director will supervise ad lead a team and establish regular meetings with revenue-related staff and ensure appropriate standards for sales activity, follow-up, and performance.
- Contributes to policy development and interpretation in consultation with the Executive Director of the Division of Multimedia Properties.
Work Schedule and Travel The normal work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; however, additional hours may be required based on business needs. Travel within and outside the market is required to develop revenue opportunities, support professional development, and coordinate with program suppliers and partners.

The University of Florida’s Division of Multimedia Properties operates public media and broadcast platforms that serve North Central Florida and beyond through trusted journalism, educational programming, public affairs content, emergency information, and community service. The Director of Revenue Development & Corporate Support will play a critical role in supporting the sustainability and growth of these services through mission-aligned revenue development.
