Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities Your main duties will involve hands-on laboratory work, including:

  • Mouse colony management (breeding, genotyping, and general animal care)
  • Tissue harvesting
  • Cell culture techniques

Additional Responsibilities You will also be essential to our lab's organization and operations, including:

  • Maintaining clean and organized lab areas
  • Managing ordering and supply inventories
  • Creating and updating spreadsheets and other lab documents

Expected Salary:

$18.00-$20.00 per hour

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma and 3 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 1 year of relevant experience. Please ask references to comment on lab/research experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required. Requires strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions with good work ethic.

Preferred:

Full-time work schedule preferred but will consider a part-time work schedule. Experience in these techniques is highly desirable:

  • Basic knowledge of genetics and cell biology
  • Basic knowledge in molecular biological and histological procedures and techniques including tissue        sectioning, immunohistochemistry and fluorescence microscopy appreciated
  • For the purpose of data analysis, knowledge of specific software such as GraphPad, Excel, ImageJ and Photoshop desired
  • A background in mouse husbandry and tissue dissections would be a plus.
