The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville is recruiting full-time and part-time physicians for the Division of Ob/Gyn Hospital Medicine. We seek experienced and highly motivated physicians who are committed to practicing evidence-based medicine, providing compassionate inpatient obstetric and gynecologic care, and educating the next generation of physicians. The ideal candidate is collaborative, forward-thinking, and dedicated to advancing patient care, quality improvement, medical education, and research.
Scope of Practice
- Provide comprehensive, patient-centered, inpatient obstetric care on Labor & Delivery across the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum continuum with support of an experienced team of Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) and Advanced Practice (APRNs).
- Manage socio-medically complex obstetric patients within a multidisciplinary care model, partnering closely with Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Anesthesiology, Neonatology, and other subspecialty teams to optimize maternal and neonatal outcomes.
- Perform gynecologic consultations in the Emergency Department and inpatient services, including medical and surgical management of gynecologic conditions.
- Perform a broad range of obstetric and gynecologic procedures, including spontaneous and operative vaginal deliveries, cesarean deliveries, external cephalic versions, laparoscopy, laparotomy, hysteroscopy, and dilation and curettage (D&C).
- Support a 24/7 teaching environment, supervising and educating residents and medical students.
