Job Description:

P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School (DRS) is seeking to hire a Pre-K-5 Visual Arts Instructor for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a 10-month, .50 (OPS) position that begins on July 30, 2026. Teaching responsibilities include:

  • Provide high-quality visual arts instruction to assigned Pre-K–5 students, fostering creativity, artistic skill development, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
  • Administer and analyze formative assessments, student artwork, and performance tasks to monitor growth, provide feedback, and adjust instruction to support student success.
  • Design and implement engaging, standards-aligned art curriculum and learning experiences that meet the needs of a diverse group of learners, including both striving and advanced students.
  • Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate accommodations and modifications to ensure all students can access and succeed in the visual arts curriculum.
  • Incorporate effective and innovative uses of technology to support artistic creation, teaching, learning, collaboration, and digital citizenship in a 1:1 learning environment.
  • Maintain regular communication with families through electronic, written, and face-to-face interactions to share student progress, celebrate accomplishments, and strengthen home-school partnerships.
  • Analyze the impact of instructional practices, curriculum implementation, and student engagement on learning outcomes to continuously improve teaching and student achievement.
  • Showcase student learning through displays, exhibitions, performances, and community engagement opportunities that celebrate student creativity and growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate the arts across content areas and support school-wide initiatives that enhance student learning and engagement.
Expected Salary:

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications:

AA Degree required
Level 2 DCF Background check required

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree & teaching experience

Florida teaching certification
