This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive coverage in abdominal imaging within a high-volume academic and tertiary care environment. UF Health Shands features nationally ranked subspecialty programs, a comprehensive children’s hospital, and a Level 1 Trauma Center. UF Health is also recognized as a premier National Medical Center for Team USA and is home to the only NCI-designed cancer center at a public university in Florida. This role provides an excellent opportunity to practice high-quality, patient-centered radiology in a collaborative academic setting with flexible scheduling and strong institutional support for teaching, research, and professional development. Faculty work closely with a robust residency program and benefit from an outstanding referral base.
Responsibilities include:
- Interpret cross-sectional imaging studies of the abdomen and pelvis, including CT, MRI and ultrasound across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings
- Provide subspecialty consultation to gastroenterology, urology, gynecology, oncology, and surgical services in multidisciplinary care teams
- Perform and interpret image-guided procedures such as biopsies and drainages when applicable to body imaging practice
- Participate in protocol optimization, quality improvement initiatives and standardization of abdominal and pelvic imaging techniques
- Teach and mentor radiology residents, fellows, and medical students through case readouts, conferences, and formal educational activities
- Participate in weekend and holiday coverage
- Engagement in scholarly activity
