Job Description:

The Research Coordinator I will support clinical research studies within the Delirium Neurorecovery Lab, including a clinical trial assessing intermittent theta burst stimulation (iTBS) for cognitive recovery after ICU delirium. Responsibilities include participant recruitment and screening, cognitive data collection, and research data management.

Participant Recruitment and Data Collection: The research assistant will assist with recruitment and screening of study participants, including reviewing electronic medical records for potential eligibility, contacting potential participants by phone, and coordinating research visits. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting phone screening using structured scripts for potential participants identified through medical records or physician referral
  • Assisting with the informed consent process for research participants
  • Scheduling and coordinating study visits
  • Assisting with administration of cognitive assessments and questionnaires
  • Coordinating with clinical teams and research staff regarding participant scheduling and eligibility
  • Recruitment activities will follow IRB-approved protocols and communication procedures used for studies in the Delirium Neurorecovery Lab.

 

Data Entry: Responsibilities include entering, organizing, and maintaining research data. Tasks may include:

•  Entering study data into REDCap and maintaining accurate research databases

•  Extracting relevant clinical variables from electronic medical records

•  Assisting with data quality checks and data organization for analysis

•  Maintaining study documentation and regulatory records

Assisting in the Coordination of Research Project: The research assistant will assist with day-to-day coordination of research projects within the lab. Responsibilities include:

• Tracking study milestones and recruitment progress

• Assisting with regulatory documentation (IRB updates, renewals, and compliance materials)

• Coordinating with study personnel and collaborators to maintain research workflow

• Assisting with preparation of study materials and research documentation

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience working in clinical research

• Experience interacting with patients or research participants in healthcare settings

• Experience with REDCap, Excel, or other research databases

• Experience conducting structured interviews, cognitive testing, or clinical assessments

• Interest in neuroscience, psychiatry, neurology, or clinical research

Expected Salary:

$40,000 - $45,000
