Join the UF Performing Arts venue production team as OPS Event Staff! As event staff, you’ll help ensure our events run smoothly, safely, offering exceptional customer experiences. Our Event Staff team members are key members of our Front of House venue team responsible for a positive patron experience from parking, access control, wayfinding and so much more!
Event Staff support the Manager on Duty (MOD) carrying out various front-of-house and occasional back-of-house event activities including but not limited to:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Event Spaces:
- Preparing Front of House spaces prior to each performance
- Assisting in post-performance load out and reset as needed in both front and back of house
Customer Service:
- Maintain a professional, welcoming environment for patrons and artists
- Greet patrons, providing relevant event details and wayfinding assistance
- Address and resolve patron concerns, complaints, or service issues with professionalism and tact.
Safety, Security, Compliance:
- Parking and traffic attendant
- Ticket scanning and venue access control
- Operate weapons scanner to assist with weapons detection including assisting with scanning and inspections for prohibited items
- Enforce facility policies and procedures (i.e. no smoking, prohibited items etc.)
- Identify and respond to emergencies according to emergency protocols, involving the Manager on Duty and Head Usher as needed
UF Performing Arts expects all employees to follow UFPA venue policies and procedures, work safely, perform duties as needed based on workload, maintain a positive and respectful attitude, communicate consistently, and demonstrate effective time management, reliable attendance, and punctuality. Event Staff are expected to maintain the UFPA standard for dress code and attendance or shift scheduling.
This is a part-time, hourly position with variable scheduling predominantly on nights and weekends, with occasional daytime and holiday hours. Must have reliable access to transportation. Anticipated interview dates in late August/early September with tentative start date of September 11th 2026.

| Preferred: |
- CPR, First Aid, or AED certified
- Strong Customer service experience
- Theatrical or event experience
- Experience working in fast-paced environments while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor
- Ability to lift 30 pounds, walk up two flights of stairs, and stand for prolonged periods of time
- Able to work outside for several hours at a time
This is a part-time, hourly position with variable scheduling predominantly on nights and weekends with occasional daytime and holiday hours. Average hours are approximately 10 to 20 hours weekly.
