Job Description:

The University of Florida is looking for an Admissions Officer II (Campus Tours) to coordinate and deliver engaging campus visit experiences that support recruitment and enrollment efforts. In this role, you will plan and conduct individual and group campus tours, coordinate customized visit experiences, support Welcome Center operations, including training student tour guides, and help ensure a consistent, high-quality experience for prospective students and their families.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Campus Tours & Welcome Center Operations

  • Provide individual and group campus tours that support Enrollment Management's recruitment and outreach mission.
  • Design and coordinate customized campus visit experiences, collaborating with campus partners to develop itineraries, schedules, and agendas that meet visitor needs.
  • Deliver engaging and informative presentations highlighting the University of Florida's academic programs, student life, and campus resources.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and foster positive interactions throughout the campus visit experience.
  • Coordinate customized campus visits by collaborating with campus partners to schedule tours, develop itineraries, and create visit agendas.
  • Support Welcome Center operations through the planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution of campus tours and information sessions.
  • Manage tour logistics and communications to ensure a seamless and efficient visitor experience.

Student Tour Guide Oversight & Development

  • Assist with the recruitment, selection, training, and retention of student tour guides and student employees.
  • Develop and deliver training initiatives to ensure consistent, accurate, and high-quality messaging for campus visitors.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to student ambassadors and tour guides.
  • Monitor and support tour operations to ensure adherence to established service standards and expectations.
  • Collaborate with Enrollment Management staff to develop, maintain, and enhance tour guide training programs and visitor experience standards.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and engaging environment that supports student guide development and success.

Admissions Operations

  • Provide admissions counseling to prospective students, families, and campus partners through phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Advise applicants regarding admission requirements and supporting documentation, including transcripts, test scores, application fees, and other credentials.
  • Assist with holistic review of freshman applications in accordance with university policies and procedures.
  • Support recruitment activities and outreach initiatives on behalf of the Office of Admissions.

Other Duties

  • Operate a state vehicle as needed to facilitate campus visits and tour activities.
  • Participate in occasional out-of-town travel to support recruitment programs and university events.
  • Assist with special projects and operational needs during peak periods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission and goals of the Office of Admissions and Enrollment Management.
Expected Salary:

$47,500 annually

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and one year of relevant experience.

Preferred:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly, accurately, and professionally.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging presentations and effectively communicate information to large audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work and communicate with a variety of stakeholders within Enrollment Management and across the university.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and support student employees or staff in a customer service or visitor-facing environment.
