Unpack specimens, label requisition and specimens including the assignment of a laboratory accession number, and verify appropriate materials received for each case. Maintain chain of custody. Initiate and maintain files.
Triage: Enter case information including demographics, specimen type, and specimen volume in laboratory database. Route case to receive appropriate testing.
Sendouts: Prepare specimens for delivery to designated referral labs. Label, aliquot, package specimens for safe transport, and maintain chain of custody.

Analysis: Assist with the analysis of biological specimens for the presence/absence of volatiles and drugs using a variety of analytical techniques including immunoassay, gas chromatography, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, and UV-Vis spectrophotometry.
