Post-Doctoral Associate in Metabolomics and Natural Product Chemistry

PhD in chemistry or a related field.  Prior experience with LC-MS/MS, comparative metabolomics, and MS/MS networking.

A postdoctoral Associate position in metabolomics and natural product chemistry is available as part of an NIH-funded project on nematode chemical signaling led by Dr. Rebecca Butcher in the Department of Chemistry. Successful candidates will join a multidisciplinary research team to identify bioactive small molecules from nematodes using genome editing, comparative metabolomics, NMR spectroscopy, and total synthesis, and to study the biosynthesis and biological activity of these small molecules. Candidates should be eager to use chemistry expertise to solve biological problems. The successful candidate will use unbiased comparative metabolomics to identify new small molecule signals in nematodes and study their biosynthesis.  Applicants should have prior experience with LC-HR-MS/MS, comparative metabolomics, and MS/MS networking.   Additional duties include mentoring graduate students, drafting manuscripts, and assisting with grant proposal development.

Applicants must have a PhD in chemistry or a related field. This position will be initially awarded for one year, and, contingent upon strong performance and conduct and availability of funds, may be renewed for up to three years.
