Job Description:

Grant Implementation and Safety Program Support the Research Coordinator II will play a key role in administering and supporting safety-related grants, working with local, state, and federal safety partners. Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Project Manager with the implementation and completion of activities for multiple highway safety grants, including programs related to occupant protection, pedestrian and bicycle safety, and Florida Traffic Safety Resource Center initiatives.
  • Provide responsive customer service and program assistance to traffic safety partners throughout Florida.
  • Maintain accurate participant, partner, activity, and program records.
  • Coordinate information and documentation needed to support grant reporting and program compliance.Assist with tracking project activities, deadlines, deliverables, and follow-up items.
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, annual, and other required program reports.
  • Communicate with partners to collect information, resolve routine questions, and support successful completion of grant activities.

Safety Resource Distribution and Inventory Coordination:

  • Review and process requests for bicycle helmets, child passenger safety seats, educational materials, and other traffic safety resources.
  • Confirm customer eligibility, previous ordering activity, and completion of applicable reporting requirements.
  • Clearly communicate ordering instructions, distribution requirements, and reporting expectations to customers before orders are fulfilled.
  • Prepare customer orders, package materials, create shipping labels, and coordinate pickup and delivery.
  • Track the statewide distribution of helmets, car seats, bicycle lights, reflective equipment, printed materials, and other traffic safety products.
  • Maintain accurate customer, order, shipment, and distribution records.
  • Monitor customer reporting deadlines and provide courteous reminders and follow-up assistance.
  • Maintain organized inventory records for educational materials, printed resources, and traffic safety products.
  • Monitor available inventory and coordinate reordering, restocking, and product availability.
  • Assist with retrieving, organizing, and storing inventory at onsite and offsite storage locations.
  • Conduct routine monthly reviews and annual physical inventory counts.
  • Work with vendors, delivery services, and program partners to support the timely statewide distribution of safety resources.
  • Identify and communicate order, inventory, or delivery concerns to the appropriate program staff.

Website Content and Program Communications:

  • Keep FTSRC websites and online program resources accurate, current, organized, and easy for customers to use.
  • Post and update program announcements, safety information, events, training opportunities, product information, and educational resources.
  • Maintain online calendars, forms, surveys, frequently asked questions, and customer communication materials.
  • Add and update product descriptions, photographs, downloadable materials, and resource-library content.
  • Review website pages periodically to identify outdated information, broken links, or other routine issues that may affect users.
  • Coordinate with appropriate staff or service providers when website updates or technical assistance are needed.
  • Help ensure online information is presented clearly and in an accessible, user-friendly format.

Outreach and Program Promotion:

  • Represent UF-T2 and FTSRC at community, regional, and statewide traffic safety events.
  • Distribute educational materials and promote traffic safety initiatives such as Click It or Ticket, Bicycle Safety Month, Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, and Child Passenger Safety Week.
  • Share current event, campaign, and safety-resource information through program websites and social media channels.
  • Assist with developing presentations, displays, handouts, and promotional materials for safety events, meetings, and conferences.
  • Engage professionally with event participants, community organizations, and statewide partners to increase awareness of FTSRC programs and resources.

Other tasks as directed

Expected Salary:

$55,000-$60,000; commensurate with education and experience

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid Florida Driver License

Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and two years of experience in program coordination, transportation safety, public health, education, community outreach, customer service, or a related area.
  • Experience supporting programs, events, training activities, public education campaigns, or community outreach initiatives.
  • Experience maintaining program records, tracking activities, preparing reports, or supporting grant-funded projects.
  • Familiarity with highway safety, occupant protection, child passenger safety, pedestrian safety, bicycle safety, or related public-safety programs.
  • Knowledge of NHTSA occupant protection initiatives, Safe Kids child passenger safety programs, or Florida traffic safety programs is preferred but not required.
  • Experience communicating and coordinating with community organizations, government agencies, law enforcement, public-safety professionals, or other program partners.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, customer-service, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal staff and external partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and experience entering, organizing, and maintaining information in spreadsheets, databases, or other recordkeeping systems.
  • Experience updating website content, online forms, calendars, newsletters, or other digital communications is helpful.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff, customers, vendors, and external partners.
  • Ability to understand program goals and communicate information about programs and services in a clear and enthusiastic manner.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and resolve routine issues independently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively while also completing assigned responsibilities with limited supervision.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs. for handling and distributing safety materials.
