Academic and Program Advising
- Responsible for advisement, student engagement and progression, and academic/career support of undergraduate students. Using developmental advising practices, engage new and continuing students in advisement conversations, identification of goals, course and academic planning, timely degree completion, and career planning. Monitor and suggest other UF advising processes and best-practices to enhance student success. Assist in the training of new academic advisors and support staff. Collaborate with other campus units to support student health and wellbeing, making referrals when appropriate. Handle student inquiries and correspondence through email, phone, and video conferencing. Serve as Interviewing Officer for College petitions.
Recruitment, Admissions, and Retention
- Working in partnership with COE Admissions, process transfer admission applications, assist with orientation, generate content, and provide presentations to support recruitment and admission for undergraduate and other teacher preparation programs. Participate in University events as requested by COE Associate Dean.
- In collaboration with other COE staff, plan, promote, and execute COE student engagement events and activities. Assist with communications between EduGator Central and other College offices to advertise and host student events. Assist with evaluating current levels of student engagement within COE and help develop plans to increase student engagement, as appropriate. Collaborate in developing learning outcomes and metrics for engagement activities. Support student-athlete transfer admission evaluations and Progress To Degree documentation. Lead student organization efforts including COE Ambassadors program.
Scholarship Support
- Provides student and faculty support for College scholarship process, including responding to inquiries regarding application processes and decisions. Verifies initial and continuing student eligibility for some specific scholarship sources and communicating with other campus offices and external funding agencies. Coordinates some discipline-specific scholarships (solicit and receive applications, distribute to review committee, communicate with student applicants) with support from COE Office of Advancement. Contribute to College undergraduate research initiatives including High Honors, Emerging/University Scholars Program, COE Research Symposium.
Data Management
- Analyzes data and prepares reports as appropriate based on enrollment statistics and student achievement. Maintain electronic databases concerning COE undergraduate student records, course offerings and enrollments, program milestones, graduation rates, and alumni information. Provide written reports and presentations concerning such information as directed by the Assistant Director, Associate Dean, and program coordinators. Participate in monthly program meetings, share available program/student data, and contribute to program improvement efforts in collaboration with program coordinators and faculty. Remain abreast of FLDOE policy and national accreditation standards related to state-approved programs and educator certification.
