Groundskeeper III

Completion of ninth grade and two years of relevant experience.

Leads crew of Groundskeepers while performing landscape and grounds maintenance activities including mowing, edging, string trimming, weeding, pruning, mulching, fertilizing, and tree, shrub and flower planting by hand and/or power equipment. Drives State vehicles to and from job site.

Receives and carries out instructions from higher level supervision. Responsible for giving verbal and written reports on employees’ progress and performance to area supervisor.

Inspects assigned areas and initiates corrective action when appropriate.

Assists in training grounds keeping employees. 

Performs other related work required of this position.     

Employee must possess or obtain within (6) months of employment Certified Landscape Maintenance Technician (FCLMT) designation from the Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association

Employee must possess and maintain valid Florida Class E driver’s license.

Employee must possess or obtain within (6) months of employment GI-BMP Certification

Employee must possess or obtain within (6) months of employment Limited Use Lawn and Ornamental Pesticide License 

THIS POSITION REQUIRES A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK AND POST OFFER HEALTH ASSESMENT.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:

6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

$17.00 Hourly based on experience
