Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an intermediate-level Training Specialist to join IT Training in Academic Technology, a unit within UFIT.

UF Information Technology (UFIT) enables teaching, learning, research, and service on campus and across the region with state-of-the-art enterprise IT systems, including SEC and SUS universities, and the opportunity to teach using HiPerGator.

The IT Training Specialist for Artificial Intelligence is responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and assessing training programs that enable university employees to effectively utilize AI technologies to enhance productivity, improve efficiency, and drive innovation. This position plays a critical role in advancing AI literacy across the institution by identifying practical use cases, introducing emerging AI tools including low-code and no-code AI applications, creating engaging learning materials, and promoting best practices for responsible AI use.

Working closely with colleges, departments, technology teams, and organizational leaders, the IT Training Specialist will help bridge the gap between emerging technologies and real-world application. The ideal candidate combines strong instructional and communication skills with a passion for technology, continuous learning, and organizational transformation.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

  • Design, develop, and deliver engaging AI-focused training programs, workshops, webinars, and learning resources for employees across the university.
  • Introduce employees to emerging AI tools and technologies, demonstrating practical applications that enhance workplace effectiveness and productivity.
  • Collaborate with technology teams and business stakeholders to align training initiatives with organizational priorities and strategic objectives.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, participant feedback, and performance metrics, continuously improving learning programs to maximize impact.

Expected Salary:

$60,000-$65,000; commensurate based on education and experience.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.

Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience, but does not negate the minimum degree requirement(s).

Preferred:

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills:

  • Application/Programming experience
  • Teaching and/or training certification
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to work collegially and interact effectively with all constituencies.
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision
  • Awareness of current standards and trends in IT and emerging technology
  • Proficiency in learning management and design tools (including the Microsoft and Adobe suites, Articulate Rise, Captivate, or Camtasia)
  • Work collaboratively and build strategic relationships with both internal and external clients
  • Provide excellent service through professional and courteous interactions with internal and external stakeholders while meeting business needs
