About the Department
The University of Florida Department of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery is committed to delivering the highest quality otolaryngologic care to those who need it most through innovation, education, and continuous self-improvement.
The department is a dynamic and growing academic practice with two primary clinical locations, multiple surgical sites, and a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing, clinical, and administrative professionals. Our faculty and staff work collaboratively across the clinical, academic, and research missions of the University of Florida College of Medicine and UF Health.
The department continues to expand its clinical programs and services and is actively pursuing opportunities for regional growth in the coming year. The Manager of Health Care Administration will play an important role in supporting this growth and helping develop the operational and administrative infrastructure needed for continued success.
Lead Administrative Operations
- Oversee departmental administrative functions, including finance, fiscal, human resources coordination, and general administration.
- Independently manage complex departmental projects and initiatives from planning through implementation and evaluation.
- Partner with the Director to develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures.
- Serve as a key liaison between the department and central administrative offices within the College of Medicine and UF Health.
- Coordinate departmental reporting, meetings, records management, and operational initiatives.
- Coordinate administrative activities across clinical, academic, research, and faculty-related functions.
- Identify operational issues, develop recommendations, and implement solutions within assigned areas of responsibility.
- Serve as a trusted resource to faculty and staff and promote effective communication across administrative functions.
Support Financial & Strategic Performance
- Participate in budget development and oversee financial monitoring, forecasting, and resource planning for assigned departmental areas.
- Analyze financial and operational performance, identify trends and variances, and develop actionable recommendations for departmental leadership.
- Develop business analyses and pro formas to support new programs, faculty recruitment, clinical expansion, staffing decisions, and other departmental initiatives.
- Monitor budget performance and identify opportunities to improve resource utilization and operational efficiency.
- Analyze clinical productivity, revenue cycle, reimbursement, and other business performance indicators to support departmental decision-making.
- Coordinate workforce planning and resource allocation strategies in collaboration with departmental leadership.
- Lead the departmental effort reporting process in partnership with the HR Generalist.
- Manage strategic initiatives, program development, and implementation of departmental priorities.

- Manage the administrative staff and set clear expectations and priorities.
- Conduct performance evaluations and coach and develop employees.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and customer-focused team environment.
- Promote engagement, communication, and continuous improvement.
