The Laboratory of Stem Cell and Metabolism at the University of Florida (UF) seeks a highly motivated and creative Postdoctoral Associate to join a multidisciplinary research team investigating the mechanisms that regulate muscle stem cell metabolism, aging, and tissue regeneration.
The successful candidate will lead independent and collaborative research projects focused on nutrient-sensing pathways, cellular metabolism, mitochondrial structure and function, and mechanisms of aging in skeletal muscle stem cells using both human cells and mouse models. The position offers opportunities to integrate molecular, metabolic, genetic, and in vivo approaches to understand how metabolic and mitochondrial adaptations influence stem cell function, regenerative capacity, and age-associated decline.
The Postdoctoral Associate will work closely with Dr. Feng Yue (Principal Investigator) and collaborators to develop new research directions, contribute to high-impact studies, and advance the laboratory’s broader mission of understanding metabolic adaptation, stem cell resilience, and tissue regeneration during aging.
The anticipated start date is November 2026.
The Postdoctoral Associate will be expected to:
- Set the tone for both scientific and scholarly excellence within the lab.
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments using molecular, cellular, genetics and physiological techniques.
- Drive forward complex and impactful projects, leading to high-quality and impact publications.
- Develop fellowship and grant applications to support independent research growth.
- Present findings in lab meetings, departmental seminars, and national/international conferences.
- Contribute to mentoring of graduate and undergraduate trainees.
- Engage actively with collaborators and contribute to the lab’s dynamic and collegial environment.

| Required Qualifications: |
The candidate must hold a Ph.D. (or M.D./Ph.D., foreign equivalent acceptable) in a relevant biological science, such as molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, biochemistry, or a related field, and demonstrate a strong record of research productivity and peer-reviewed publications. Candidates must be supportive of the mission of the Land-Grant system. Candidates must also have a commitment to UF core values.

| Preferred: |
Expertise in cellular and molecular biology techniques, including cell culture, gene editing, immunoprecipitation (IP), Western blotting, flow cytometry, and related approaches.
Experience in cellular metabolism, metabolic biology, or metabolic biochemistry.
Experience with in vivo animal models and/or human primary cells.
Experience with CRISPR screening, and bioinformatics/computational analysis of sequencing data.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical ability, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
