The Simulation Technician I supports the Anaclerio Learning and Assessment Center (ALAC) by coordinating and assisting educational activities, including simulation and experiential learning events. This position provides professional support for training and development initiatives for the benefit of individual and organizational performance.
About This Role
Technical Operations
- Support faculty, staff, and students in the learning and assessment center and simulation center to achieve course objectives, including tours and simulation sessions for internal and external audiences.
- Operate simulators, audio/visual, computer, and other simulation-related equipment.
- Facilitate simulation case training, prop placement, moulage set up, and faculty training on simulation equipment.
- Assist with risk management and safety assurance, including routine checks of exam tables and simulation equipment, looking for safety hazards, and supporting risk management simulations.
- Serve as a back up to the ALAC Simulation Operations Specialist with recording of center activities through starting and monitoring equipment.
Administrative Operations
- Assist with room scheduling for the Center for Experiential Learning and Simulation.
- Maintain proficiency in technology according to simulation industry standards of best practice through ongoing educational development.
- Monitor material and resource usages to promote cost efficiency and minimize waste.
- Assist in data collection, utilization reporting, educational research activities, and development of new courses or training initiatives as requested.
Maintenance
- Perform maintenance of simulation equipment as needed, including preventative maintenance.
- Tracks inventory levels of CELS supplies and equipment, and submit requests for needed items to the Administrative Specialist.
