Job Description:

Position Description

The Hamilton School for Classical and Civic Education at the University of Florida invites applications for two Postdoctoral Fellowships in English literature, intellectual history, political theory, theology and religion, philosophy, political science, and strategic studies. Fellows will pursue ambitious research and participate in an interdisciplinary community devoted to serious inquiry into enduring questions of human nature, political order, religion, literature, philosophy, history, war, statecraft, and the ideas and institutions that have shaped Western civilization and the American experience.

The Fellowship is a two-year, residential appointment beginning August 2027. It is designed to provide an optimal context for pursuing research toward publications. Consequently, while Fellows have the option of teaching a course in their areas of expertise, teaching does not constitute a requirement for the Fellowship.  Applications from scholars whose work transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries are particularly welcome.

Fellows can expect structured mentoring and job-market advising. Fellows are expected to participate in regular Fellows and Faculty Seminars as well as visiting speakers sponsored by the Hamilton School.
