Key Functions and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

ADVISING                                                                                                                                                                
• Researches, documents, and coordinates advising and administrative policies and procedures under the direction of the Director for International Programs
• Provides academic and study abroad advising related to Heavener Sponsored Business (HSB) and other international programs to UF undergraduates, State University System (SUS), and out-of-state students via scheduled in-person appointments, and electronic communication platforms
• Assists students in selecting appropriate programs that align with their academic and professional goals
• Assists students through their study abroad application process including visa questions and processes
• Collaborates with the University of Florida International Center (UFIC) to address student questions and concerns
• Assists and advises students during critical or urgent situations utilizing university and partner resources
• Presents at the study abroad sessions for GEB 2015 Intro to Business sections

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

• Serves as a point of contact for select Heavener Sponsored Business (HSB) programs; Will be the primary contact for 2-3 programs
• Collaborates with partners to ensure seamless processes for pre-approving/nominating students to study abroad programs
• In collaboration with the partners, creates seamless advising process to enhance students’ experience
• Collaborates with the International Center (UFIC) to ensure students complete applications
• Resolves scheduling conflicts of UF exams directly with course instructors (professors)
• Registers select HSB International Programs participants for UF classes
• Reports registration information to UFIC and international partners
• Conducts visa seminars, as needed, and works closely with partners abroad to ensure students have accurate and timely information   about visa applications
• Schedules and conducts pre-departure orientations for the select HSB programs three times per year
• Collaborates with Assistant Director to create and published pre-departure guide for HSB programs
• Represents International Programs at study abroad fairs, Business Bash, and other recruiting events
• Collaborates with international partners to continuously create and/or enhance program operations and efficiency to ensure quality of student services and enhanced student experience
• Manages and promotes study abroad opportunities for students

ADMINISTRATION

• In collaboration with the Teaching Learning and Curriculum (TLC), HSB professors, and international partners, coordinates the scheduling of exams for all HSB programs and the UF online classes
• Updates textbook requirements for UF courses offered internationally
• Updates the academic calendars for the HSB programs in conjunction with institutional and international partners
• Assists in providing training to new employees and student assistants on processes and administration of programs


PROGRAM MARKETING

• Assists in setting the strategy for promoting HSB programs that align with the mission of the department and assists students in internationalizing their curriculum
• Creates and manages events (e.g., leading the coordination of Study Abroad 101 info sessions) each fall and spring semesters
• Coordinates representation of International Programs at student organization meetings to promote study abroad
• Serves as the point of contact for coordinating with campus stakeholders and representing International Programs at study abroad fairs, Business Bash, and other recruiting events
• Utilizes social media and UF information networks to inform students of study abroad opportunities
• Coordinates the presentation of study abroad info sessions for GEB 2015 Intro to Business sections and the IP Staff
• Represent HSB International Programs at relevant conferences
• Produces timely program promotional material that aligns with the overall IP and HSB brand strategy

STRATEGIC PLANNING & LEADERSHIP

• Under the direction of the IP Director, seeks opportunities for international partnerships and collaborations to enhance the mission of International Programs and the Heavener School of Business
• Contributes to the design and implementation of study abroad programs that permit students to engage internationally while completing degree requirements
• Collaborates with UF and international partners to continually enhance programs and increase study abroad participation of HSB undergraduates
• Collaborates with the director in proposing and developing new initiatives
• Supports new initiatives
• Collaborates with the director in evaluating the formatting and execution of programs to enhance student participation in study abroad programs, efforts to further internationalize students’ curriculum, and to streamline program delivery and efficiency  
• Collaborates with domestic and international partners to continuously create and/or enhance program operations
• Assists the Director in preparing reports and data for publication
• Coordinates and moderates in the [REWIND] re-entry workshop held for students twice a year
• Produces evaluation reports and distributes them to international partners and UFIC
• Assists the Director in assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the HSB sponsored programs and collaborates with the Director in executing efficiency and enhancing program structure and delivery
• Assists in developing assessment tools to determine program outcomes as well as student and partner satisfaction
• In collaboration with the Director, manages program evaluations for the sponsored programs
• Assists in developing assessment tools to determine program outcomes as well as student and partner satisfaction
• Supervises  Academic Program Specialist I and the position's work related to HSB programs

 Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
    • This position may require national and international travel
    • Required participation in some events held in the evening or on weekends

Expected Salary:

$74,000 - $78,000

Master’s degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience.

Preferred:

EDUCTION & TRAINING
• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization

EXPERIENCE
• Six years of full-time experience in study abroad programming, higher ed, and/or international business
• Two years of supervisory experience and/or experience leading a team
• Previous experience creating and/or managing a study abroad programs
• Previous experience leading students on a study abroad program

KNOWLEDGE
• Thorough knowledge of academic and administrative policies and procedures
• Knowledge to facilitate the IP process and help students evaluate the experience
