The Clinical Research Office (CRO) in the Office of Research Affairs (ORA), College of Medicine-Jacksonville is looking for a Clinical Research Coordinator I to assist in coordinating, engaging, and performing research tasks. The CRC I will screen and consent patients in different clinics around the greater Jacksonville and Gainesville area within the UF enterprise and conduct research visits as required by the research protocols. This position will schedule research visits and procedures, collect, process, and ship lab specimens, and document where appropriate and as delegated by the investigator, following protocol/sponsor requirements. The ideal candidate will mainly recruit potential study participants in UF Health clinics, inpatient at UFHealth Jacksonville and UFHealth North, and through community lectures, health fairs, and tabling events for grant-funded clinical research trials. The candidate will review eligibility and recruitment material for these potential participants. They will provide and explain enrollment information to research participants. The candidate may travel to participating study clinics and community events for recruitment activities and check-in visits including specimen transportation. According to each study protocol, they will perform phone screening and documentation, data entry, and IRB-related clerical duties. The ideal candidate will possess a fundamental understanding of clinical research and be able to communicate effectively with diverse populations. The position requires interacting with numerous patients, paying close attention to detail, coordinating various tasks, and working independently and productively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Primary responsibilities include helping to manage the funds and budgets overseen by the PI and coordinating activities between the different institutions involved. The coordinator will also be responsible for performing administrative and fiscal tasks pertaining to assignment of research assistants, graduate and post-doctoral students; travel arrangements and reimbursements; scheduling meetings; and project outreach materials, including maintenance of the website, newsletters, communiques and policy briefs, and other materials that demonstrate the center’s impact, as well as coordinating research reports and deliverables for annual and period reports, site visits, assisting with administration of IRB protocols for research projects, and other reporting functions essential to the evaluation of the center. The coordinator will also play a major role in coordination of the broadening participation efforts, including scheduling and management of workshops and other events, incorporating researchers and marginalized population communities, and summer schools/bootcamps. The coordinator will work closely with the lead PI of the center and will perform duties as assigned by the PI.
