The Office of Global Learning (OGL) at the UF International Center contributes to the advancement of UF’s internationalization strategy through the administration of co-curricular academic programming for students and the organization of professional development initiatives for faculty and staff.
The signature student-centered initiatives are the International Scholars and Peace Corps Preparatory programs. The International Scholars Program (ISP) is a co-curricular global distinction program that offers undergraduate students structured opportunities to internationalize their UF degree. Peace Corps Prep is an additional distinction program supporting in particular undergraduate students who are interested in applying to become Peace Corps volunteers around the world. The OGL coordinator will assist in the administration of the International Scholars and Peace Corps Prep programs. Responsibilities will include student advising, tracking, recruitment, marketing and communications, assessment, and event planning for both programs. The OGL coordinator will also be responsible for mentoring students in the development of the International Scholars Program capstone eportfolios.
The professional development opportunities for faculty and staff offered through OGL include trainings on curriculum internationalization, virtual exchange, and intercultural competence development. The OGL coordinator will provide support for faculty and staff programmatic initiatives in collaboration with the Director and Coordinator of Faculty Development Initiatives. Tasks will include tracking virtual exchange projects, facilitating online and in person sessions and designing and updating training materials.
