The Associate Vice President/Chief Development Officer (AVP/CDO) will serve as an integral member of the senior leadership team who will establish, pursue, and monitor specific goals for programs and services that benefit the university, development, alumni, and its students by overseeing efforts to promote a culture of philanthropy and enhance alumni participation in the University’s comprehensive fundraising campaign. As a leader, the incumbent will broadly and effectively represent the university, create a culture of high-performance and support among a diverse staff, manage operations in a data-driven and results-oriented manner, and be accountable for the wise use of resources and significant return on investment. Reporting to the Vice President of UF Advancement, the incumbent will be responsible for monitoring and reporting fundraising activity, as it relates to campaign goals, total commitments and VSE, guide a high-performance team, build robust campus partnerships to create opportunities for meaningful alumni involvement, and implement programs that strengthen alumni engagement across the university. In accordance with University of Florida rule 6C1-3.054, funding for this position is time-limited and may be eliminated or reduced because of conditions beyond the control of the University of Florida, which may result in termination of your employment before the anticipated end date. Funding also may be available to extend the appointment beyond the anticipated end date. In either case, you will remain a time-limited appointee (regardless of future title changes) unless you are notified otherwise in writing. The position is located at University of Florida’s North Florida Research and Education Center, Quincy, FL. The incumbent will assist with all ongoing farm operations using various farm equipment. They will report directly to the Farm Manager or designated supervisor. This is a 12-month non-tenure accruing position with renewal contingent upon performance and availability of funds. With the dynamic nature of the research programs at NFREC the incumbent is expected to adapt quickly and learn new techniques and methods warranted by the nature of the study. Must be a team player. The incumbent must be proficient with basic computer operations. Certain activities involve extended hours of heat/cold exposure. Core Research Facility Specialist I 11600105 - RE-ICBR-CYTOMETRY Main Campus (Gainesville, FL)
The Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research (ICBR) at the University of Florida is the premier campus biotechnology shared resource center, with the mission of empowering scientific discovery and innovation throughout the University of Florida research community by providing access to world-class biotechnology expertise and instrumentation. The ICBR is in search of a highly motivated and experienced individual with outstanding technical experience in flow cytometry and optical microscopy to serve as Core Research Facility Specialist I in our Cytometry Shared Resource Core. The ICBR Cytometry Shared Resource provides critical support to UF investigators conducting research across a wide array of topics including plant and animal cell biology, insects, and microbes. The incumbent will operate several flow cytometers and sorters (BD LSRFortessa, BD FACSymphony A3, Sony ID7000 Spectral, BD FACSCanto II, Accuri C6 Plus, BD FACSymphony S6, BD FACSFusion, Sony SH800 sorter), small particle analyzer (NS300 and NanoFCM) and optical microscopes including the Stellaris 8 STED spectrum confocal microscope and provide self-user training to core facility users. This position will perform routine instrument calibration and maintenance, troubleshoot equipment failures and schedule and supervise repairs from field service engineers and core facility staff members. The successful candidate must have the ability to think independently, have attention to detail, and possess excellent problem-solving skills. Outstanding customer service is key to ICBR’s success, and this position requires a positive, collegial, and customer-centric attitude.
