| This position Data Scientist position is housed in the IFAS Statistical and Data Analytics Consulting Unit and serves as a staff statistical consultant supporting applied research across agriculture, natural resources, and life sciences. The position will provide statistical consulting, experimental design guidance, data analysis, interpretation of results, and data visualization support to IFAS faculty, graduate students, staff scientists, and research teams.
The primary focus of this position is applied statistical consulting for research projects, including study design, data organization, statistical modeling, interpretation, and communication of results. Programming in R and/or Python is expected as a tool to support reproducible statistical analysis, but this is not a software-development-only or machine-learning-only position. The successful candidate must be comfortable working directly with researchers to understand scientific questions, recommend appropriate statistical methods, explain analytical approaches, and communicate results clearly to non-statistical audiences. |
