The Dean of Students Office is recruiting an experienced leader to direct and oversee Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution at the University of Florida. The Assistant Dean and Director of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution serves as the chief conduct officer for the University and is responsible for the broad operational management and administrative direction of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution, including staff supervision, operations, and administrative activities that align with the Strategic Plans of the Dean of Students Office, Division of Student Life, the University of Florida, and State University System of Florida. The Assistant Dean and Director interprets, administers, and ensures the effectiveness of the Student Conduct Code and Honor Code.
The Assistant Dean and Director also provides oversight for processes and programs including student housing conduct, organizational conduct, non-title IX student sexual misconduct investigations, conflict resolution, admission review, dean certification, and other related areas. The Assistant Dean and Director serves the university at a high level in various capacities including, but not limited to, membership on the campus threat assessment team, emergency on-call programs, and as a back-up to the Dean of Students, Senior Associate Dean of Students, Associate Dean of Students in crisis and emergent situations.
Finally, the successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to a non-adversarial, educational, and restorative conduct approach, ensuring that programs, hearings, and sanctions support student learning and development. |
