Research Collaboration Coord (Boyd - AI Center) 60750000 - AG-GCREC - BALM Hillsborough
The Research Collaboration Coordinator will take on a strategic role for research and development (R&D) endeavors at the Center for Applied Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture (CA2IA) by aligning complementary faculty strengths with industry needs. They will integrate innovative systems with core teams and lead projects aligned with the strategic vision and drive operational improvements through analytics. As a central communicator, they'll ensure stakeholder engagement and clear reporting on CA2IA project progress. This position will bridge UF R&D and the ag tech sector and play a critical role to help ensure that AI-enabled tools advance efficiently from concept to adoption and deliver value to Florida agriculture and the broader industry.
Assistant or Associate Professor in Remote Sensing 60070000 - AG-AGRICUL - BIOLOGICAL ENG Main Campus (Gainesville, FL)
The faculty member in this position will develop active, successful, nationally recognized research and teaching programs in remote sensing technologies and techniques to detect, describe, predict threats impacting our agricultural and natural systems and evaluate mitigation strategies. The successful candidate will develop theoretical/foundational algorithms in remote sensing and/or sensor development (hardware) utilizing a variety of sensors such as fluorescence, hyperspectral and multispectral optical sensing, LiDAR, and/or Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). The applications may include but not limited to satellite-based spatio-temporal remote sensing in soil and plant nutrients/organic matter, ecosystem health (such as agriculture, rangelands, and forests), natural hazards, land use/cover changes (e.g. soil degradation); and/or water quality for health and societal well-being.
