The Cage Wash - Animal Care Technician 1 (ACT1) provides cage wash support in one of 3 facilities as instructed by area Operations Manager or designee. Will operate cage wash machinery to include tunnel washers, rack washers, bedding vacuum systems, waste disposal systems, soiled bedding dump stations, water bottle filling stations, bedding dispensers, steam autoclaves, dry heat sterilizers and other related equipment. All duties are completed by strictly and consistently following applicable ACS standard operating procedures including safety procedures and policies. Reports any suspected or actual deviations to SOPs or non-routine situations immediately to Operations Manager or designee. While working in Animal Care Services’ cage wash facilities will maintain room and sanitation logs, conduct routine QA sampling and testing and maintain cage wash support-areas including various types of storage rooms. Will transport facility waste to designated disposal areas.
