This position will support Pepperdine’s Finance Department in supporting University-wide adherence to Pepperdine’s University Financial Policies and support the Controllership Team with logistical and procedural needs.
Duties
- Responsible for coordinating the University’s financial policy exception process in collaboration with the University controller, acting with tact, diplomacy, and discretion on a variety of complex and sensitive issues.
- Produce, monitor, and reconcile reports; research, identify, and resolve discrepancies; support Controllership departments including accounts payable and purchasing, and assist with project management and tracking.
- Formulate spreadsheets and develop documents and correspondence for presentations, conferences, seminars, and reports.
- Coordinate and facilitate departmental meetings and events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong administrative support skills.
- Strong computer skills, MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat,Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform work while under pressure.
- Ability to proactively address issues and take initiative and ownership of projects.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive matters.
- Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
- Ability to work effectively with University administrators, Regents, faculty, staff, students, vendors, attorneys, and government officials.
Preferred:
- Experience as office manager, executive assistant, or administrative assistant.
This is a Temporary, Nonexempt, 10-20 hour per week position.
Expected Pay Range: $18.47 - $25.00 per hour
The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level.
