The Pepperdine Graduate School of Education and Psychology (GSEP) is at the forefront of transforming education through innovative online/hybrid programs and events. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager familiar with higher education and online program management. The ideal candidate will have project management experience and strong skills in developing and overseeing work plans. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for education.

Duties

  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop detailed project plans outlining tasks, timelines, and resource requirements. Coordinate and execute project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards. Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing potential risks and issues.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with faculty members, instructional designers, and other stakeholders to gather project requirements and expectations. Foster effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes. Facilitate regular project status meetings and provide updates to stakeholders. 
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, meeting minutes, and status reports. Generate regular reports for leadership, summarizing project status, milestones achieved, and upcoming activities. 
  • Resource Management: Allocate and manage project resources effectively, including budget, personnel, and technology. Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure the availability of necessary resources. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance project efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality programs and events. Conduct regular reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned/Required to work GSEP Commencement.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business, Education, or a related field. Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably in the field of higher education and/or online learning. Demonstrated success in managing projects from initiation to completion. Experience coordinating and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools. Ability to create and execute comprehensive project plans. Proficient in project scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders, including faculty and external partners. Experience facilitating project status meetings and providing clear updates. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Skill in fostering effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams. Proven experience building and maintaining positive working relationships. Experience in allocating and managing project resources, including budget, personnel, and technology. Ability to identify and implement process improvements to enhance project efficiency.

Preferred: Master’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Education, or a related field. Familiarity with virtual learning platforms and technologies. Understanding of trends and best practices in higher education and/or online learning. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent. Previous experience in a leadership role within project management. Ability to inspire and motivate project teams toward successful project outcomes. Proven ability to think creatively, innovate, and solve problems. Experience implementing innovative solutions to enhance project outcomes. Understanding of quality assurance processes in project management. Experience maintaining and ensuring the delivery of high-quality project results. Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities. Ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving work environment. Proficient in using project management software and tools. Familiarity with collaborative platforms for virtual team communication and coordination.

This is a Regular, Exempt, 40 hour per week position.

Expected Pay Range: $67,500 - $75,000 per year 

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. In addition to base pay, Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitive benefits package.
