This position will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing data management processes and analytics initiatives at Pepperdine Caruso School of Law (CSOL). This position supports all law school related information systems used by law school departments, including those related to admissions information, student information, course information, and administrative software and programs. Additionally, this position will be responsible for the mining and reporting of data used and analyzed by the Dean and other members of CSOL administration to provide insights that will improve decision-making processes. This position will also support providing data and information for survey completion, including accreditation purposes.

Duties

  • MANAGE INFORMATION SYSTEMS FUNCTIONS: Oversee admissions, student, and academic information systems functions for CSOL departments including admissions, records, financial aid, career planning, Straus, and Deans' Offices. Primary system administrator for the University student enterprise system (PeopleSoft) as well as other enterprise systems including Salesforce CRM and Unite. Serve as school administrator for Anthology Course Evaluations by providing system support and reporting for CSOL faculty, students, staff, and administrators. 
  • DATA MANAGEMENT/INTEGRITY, MINING/ANALYTICS, AND REPORTING: Advance CSOL goals by conducting data mining and analysis activities to extract actionable insights from both CSOL and University enterprise data sources. Coordinate with the Pepperdine University Business Intelligence Office as a university Data Partner to maintain data quality and integrity, and to manage and build dashboards within the University Analytics (Microsoft Power BI) enterprise reporting system. Use historical data to make recommendations and provide insights to CSOL leadership to support student success across all demographics. Generate reports and dashboards to present findings to the Dean and other leadership roles within the School of Law. Coordinate data collection and management for all areas of CSOL. Direct and perform data analysis and predictive analytics for all areas of CSOL. Serve on the Data Stewardship and University Analytics committee(s) representing CSOL. Contribute and adhere to University data standards and definitions. Support accreditation and reporting efforts for CSOL (American Bar Association, US News and World Report, Association of American Law Schools). 
  • OTHER DUTIES: Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree with 4-6 years of experience in a related field or Bachelor’s degree or certificate in statistics, analytics, data management, mathematics, computer science, or similar discipline with 2-4 years of experience. Exceptional organizational and communication skills; Creative problem-solving skills; Ability to independently address issues and challenges while seeking out collaborative solutions; Proficient with Google-Suite (gmail, calendar, google-docs, etc.); Expertise using computer applications and software programs; Prior work experience in enterprise data systems such as ERPs and CRMs (e.g. PeopleSoft, Salesforce, etc.)

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in statistics, analytics, data management, mathematics, computer science, or similar discipline with 4-6 years of experience. Prior work experience using analytics and data visualization software (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, etc.); Experience using statistical analysis software, SPSS, SAS, R, or equivalent; Experience in SQL query writing or similar programming; Expertise using Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel; Prior experience in education or higher education setting.

This is a Regular, Exempt, 40 hour per week position.

Expected Pay Range: $67,500 - $75,000 per year

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. In addition to base pay, Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitive benefits package.
