The International Admission Counselor position assists in the recruitment, application completion and admission of academic and mission-fit international and TCK students. This position serves as the primary contact for campus visitors and students completing applications and is responsible as the primary reader of international applications for admission. This position assists in the coordination of virtual recruitment and yield events, communications campaigns, and new student orientation.

Duties

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for prospective international and TCK students, including communication with prospective students/counselors, coordinates on-campus visits, and virtual recruitment events utilizing OISS staff and/or student interns as needed (i.e. emails and calls, prospect visits, group and counselor tours, etc.).
  • Assists unit leadership with international and TCK application processing and completion, including collecting, auditing and evaluating documentation and serves as the primary reader of applications for admission for designated territories.
  • Proposes, coordinates, and implements off-campus international recruitment opportunities within the negotiated territory and budget allocated (i.e. international school visits, fairs, conferences).
  • Oversees the coordination of armchair marketing events, international communication campaigns, and admissions-related website updates as well as the social media efforts of OISS in coordination with EM and IMC.
  • Coordinates International New Student Orientation, utilizing OISS staff and student interns.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required: BA or BS; demonstrated professional experience with international high school students; exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated recruitment or sales skills; demonstrated project management and effective team communication; and this person must be a self-starter and have a winning and pleasing personality; overseas experience. Be a globally competent person with sensitivity to people of diverse backgrounds; demonstrated competency in project organization and management; demonstrated presentation skills; demonstrated ability to follow direction and concurrently have a history of initiating and completing projects effectively PC and/or Mac competent.

Preferred: MA or MS or MBA; fluency in another language; a degree from Pepperdine; former marketing or recruitment experience in higher education, university or international school admission experience, overseas experience in more than one country or continent (in an educational or professional environment) Have lived abroad, worked with people of diverse cultures Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

This is a Regular, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.

Expected Pay Range: $25.47 - $28.30 per hour

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. In addition to base pay, Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitive benefits package.
