The primary purpose of this position is to support the clinical training and professional development of students enrolled in the Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology program at the West LA Campus. Duties include: advise students through their clinical practicum experience while in the program; meet BBS regulations and university requirements for graduation, audit all requirements for graduation and licensure eligibility; consult with constituents (program staff, faculty, clinical supervisors, agency directors, program administrator, etc.) when necessary to ensure student trainees/practicum sites are following program/ethical/legal guidelines related to profession and university code of conduct. This is a temporary position with an ideal start date of December 9, 2024, and an expected end date in April, 2025.
Duties
Clinical Training & Student Support:
- Advise MACLP students one-on-one in person, by phone, and via zoom on clinical training sites that serve as a practicum placement.
- Guide, support and educate students and faculty on resources that will assist students in securing and maintaining a practicum site traineeship.
- Provide consultation to students when challenges arise at practicum setting in order to increase professional development and advocacy skills while maintaining strong relationship with agencies in the community.
- Coordinate support plans for students and remediation plans for community practicum partners with Program Directors.
- Consult with Program Directors, Clinical Directors, Clinical Supervisors, Faculty and students on clinical/ethical issues related to practicum experience.
- Educate faculty, students and program staff on Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) regulations and University requirements to pursue California MFT/PCC licensure Train MACLP students, faculty and practicum site representatives on how to utilize data management system to complete practicum and licensure requirements.
- Meet with clinical supervisors and agency representatives on a regular basis to maintain strong community partnerships and enhance clinical training outcomes.
- Attend MFT/PCC professional association/consortium/networking meetings to stay current on regulations and changes within the MFT/PCC profession Connect students to various professional development resources, as well as professional organizations such as CAMFT/CALPCC.
Administrative Support:
- Establish and maintain enrolled student files and documentation as required by BBS regulations and University; track and audit student practicum hours and requirements to ensure students meet graduation and licensure eligibility.
- Review, edit and revise practicum course assignments to meet specific campus University and licensure standards.
- Consult on in-progress grades by working with students, faculty and registrar in a timely manner.
- Evaluate site performance continually to ensure quality clinical training outcomes for students.
- Collaborate with Clinical Training team to maintain up-to-date asynchronous materials, practicum site directory and resources relevant for practicum students.
- Execute administrative onboarding process for new practicum site applications from students; including consultation with manager, legal counsel and insurance and risk.
- Audit and maintain practicum site partnership records in order to be in compliance with BBS and University standards.
- Maintain current practicum mentor list to increase community supports for students Maintain alumni records to support requests pertaining to licensure eligibility.
Other Support:
- Attend weekly staff meetings.
- Delegate assignments to graduate assistants in order to support the needs of the Clinical Training department.
- Participate in Pepperdine events.
- Respond to communications in a timely manner and provide linkages to resources as needed Promote Professional development opportunities for students
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Uphold the University mission through all work performed.

Skills and Qualifications
Required: Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy required. One to two years working in a clinic or academic setting. Knowledgeable of marriage & family therapy theories/treatment; able to work effectively with people of varying degrees of training and diverse backgrounds, (i.e. licensed mental health professionals, practicum students, other members of the MFT Clinical Training teams, and practicum instructors; familiarity with the BBS regulations for MFT trainees). Experience with online university platfoms and database management system for maintaining student records and data, proficiency in word processing, data entry, and detailed documentation using Google Suite.

This is a Restricted, Nonexempt, 30-40 hour per week position with an ideal start date of December 9, 2024, and an expected end date in April, 2025.
Expected Pay Range: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour
The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level.
