The Human Resources Systems and Data Specialist is responsible for ensuring the effective management and utilization of HR systems and data to support organizational success. This includes maintaining HR platforms such as PeopleSoft HCM, ensuring data accuracy and security, and providing actionable insights through reporting and analysis. By collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, this role streamlines HR processes, enhances user experiences, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, the position fosters a data-driven culture within HR by delivering tools and training that empower stakeholders to make informed decisions and drive strategic initiatives.
Duties
- HR Systems Management:
- Maintain PeopleSoft HCM and other HR platforms, ensuring data integrity, security, and accuracy.
- Collaborate with HR PeopleSoft Support team on system upgrades, enhancements, and troubleshooting efforts, collaborating with IT teams as needed.
- Provide user support and training to HR staff and end-users on system functionality and best practices.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including workflows, processes, and training materials.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect and interpret HR data to provide actionable insights and support decision-making.
- Design and deliver standard and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and analytics for stakeholders, including leadership and HR teams.
- Ensure compliance with legal and organizational reporting requirements.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate HR processes using technology.
- Collaborate with HR team members to improve workflows and data management practices.
- Evaluate new HR technologies and make recommendations to enhance system capabilities and user experience.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between HR, IT, finance, and other departments to ensure seamless integration and utilization of HR systems.
- Support organizational initiatives, such as workforce planning, talent acquisition, and performance management, through data-driven solutions.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to align HR systems with broader business objectives.
- Compliance and Data Governance:
- Ensure HR systems and data processes comply with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Establish and enforce data governance protocols, including user access controls and data retention policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. Exceptional written and oral communication skills, strong customer service and interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, ability to use discretion when handling sensitive and confidential issues, ability to organize and prioritize changing workload, must dress professionally, supportive of the Christian mission, ability to integrate faith with HR practice.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. 3 years of relevant experience. Previous experience in employment processing .Previous experience with Pepperdine University. Experience with PeopleSoft HCM, Kronos, HireRight, FormI-9 Compliance. Advanced MS Word and MS Excel skills.

This is a Regular, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.
Expected Pay Range: $25.00 - $26.92 per hour
The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level.
