The Drescher Graduate Campus Librarian is a key member of the team of library faculty and staff who together manage the operations of the graduate campus libraries at Pepperdine University. In alignment with the University’s mission and strategic plan, the Drescher Graduate Campus Librarian develops strong working relationships with faculty, students, staff, and affiliated researchers at the Graziadio Business School, School of Public Policy, and Graduate School of Education and Psychology to support their learning, research, and teaching needs through collections and services. The person in this position is responsible for providing group and individual instruction and consultation for basic and advanced research and for academic courses. Additionally, the librarian collaborates with colleagues to enhance existing programs and services and to develop new programs and services that promote the use of the libraries’ collections, services, and expertise as opportunities arise.
Duties
- Provide research and reference assistance, and other critical services to Drescher Campus Library users. Responsibilities include assisting patrons in locating information using analog and digital sources, providing general research and reference assistance in person and virtually, and offering in-depth research and reference support in business, public policy, education and psychology.
- Serve as liaison to faculty in select academic division(s) assigned based on the librarian's academic background and work experience. Tasks include: Providing in-person and online library instruction sessions, developing online instructional resources and tutorials to support the use of library resources, selecting relevant materials in all formats, deselecting materials, and promoting the use of general and subject-oriented print and electronic research guides and other instructional materials.
- Manage the Drescher Campus Library and iLab. Responsibilities include: supervising library staff and students in daily activities at the library; crafting, maintaining, and implementing onboarding training materials for student assistants and circulation staff to utilize as needed; evaluating staff and students' performance; and overseeing equipment, software, and utilization of the iLab; flexibly working occasional evening and weekend hours and occasional days at the West Los Angeles and Calabasas campuses as operational needs demand.
- Perform other projects and duties as assigned, including but not limited to: engagement in research and publishing according to guidelines in the Librarians' Handbook; service on Library and University committees; and participation in professional development activities.

Skills and Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s degree of Library Science or comparable graduate degree.
- An appreciation for and commitment to the university’s Christian mission and a desire to contribute actively to that mission; demonstrated sound judgment and emotional intelligence; strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, well-organized, team player, highly motivated, ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with emerging technologies and data literacy. WMS or other library system; MS Suite; Google Workspace; Zoom.
Preferred:
- Second master's degree in relevant subject area.
- Command of business and specialized bibliographic databases, reference sources, and techniques for research.
- Experience serving graduate students, online students, and international students.
- Experience in providing information literacy instruction and collection development.
- Knowledge of accessibility guidelines and best practices.
- Experience using Springshare products such as LibGuides, LibAnswers, and LibCal; video capture and editing software.
This is a Librarian, Exempt, 40 hour per week position.
Expected Pay Range: $68,640 - $70,500 per year
The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level.
