This part-time proctor role supports the Office of Student Accessibility in its administration of accommodated exams for Seaver College.

Duties

  • Begin student exams and monitor students while they test; return personal devices when finished, intervene in cases of academic integrity violations, communicate questions and issues with professors.
  • Package, scan, or otherwise prepare exams for return. Use Secure Attachment for virtual returning.
  • Answer office phones, respond to walk-in questions or needs from students.
  • Ensure exams are printed, organized, and prepared for administration.
  • Maintain office and exam room cleanliness, stock supplies for students and office.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Uphold University mission through work performed.

Skills and Qualifications

Required:

  • 2 years of experience working in a professional environment.
  • Possess: Good judgement; calm demeanor; extreme commitment to detail; positive and empathetic approach to team and work environment; effective communication with external parties.
  • Ability to: Handle multiple and changing priorities while multi-tasking; see both big and small picture; appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.
  • Enjoyment of undergraduate and graduate student populations.
  • Google Suite, Mac and PC capabilities.
  • Standard office equipment (printer/scanner/copier).

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Understanding of FERPA, HIPAA in the context of higher education.
  • Experience within a university setting.
  • Strong skills with Google Sheets

This is a Temporary, Nonexempt, 20 hour per week position.

Expected Pay Range: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour 

The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. In addition to base pay, Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitive benefits package.
