Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Clinical Psychology Program invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position, with appointment to ideally begin September 1, 2026. The new faculty member will provide research mentorship, teaching, and service in both our clinical Ph.D. and M.A. degree programs.  

We seek a candidate whose program of research focuses on mechanisms of psychopathology and/or treatment across the developmental spectrum.  Candidates whose research leverages cutting-edge theoretical perspectives and methods, including for historically marginalized groups, are particularly encouraged to apply. We are especially interested in prospective candidates with a proven track record of published research and federal grant funding (or potential to procure funding). 

The new faculty member will be expected to actively assist in service to our masters and APA-accredited Ph.D. programs.  Additional opportunities include research, clinical, and community outreach interfacing opportunities through the Dean-Hope Center, the Teachers College student training clinic. Candidates with a doctoral degree (PhD, PsyD, or equivalent) from an APA-accredited clinical psychology program are strongly encouraged. The clinical program highly values a diverse intellectual community. We are especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, will contribute toward building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment. 

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach graduate courses in Clinical Psychology
  • Conduct and supervise research in areas of interest and expertise 
  • Provide service to the Program, Department, College, and the profession 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Earned doctorate in clinical psychology
  • Professionally licensed or license-eligible in the State of New York
  • Evidence of research productivity and potential for extramural funding; and commitment to teaching excellence.


Preferred Qualifications:

Salary Range:

$108,000-$130,000
