The Program in Clinical Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University is seeking Adjunct Assistants to teach in one or more of the programs offered by the department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology at Teachers College.
Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Department of Counseling and Clinical Psychology at Teachers College Columbia University has a need for Adjunct Assistant Professors. This position requires a minimum of a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) or the equivalent in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or a directly related field. We are also seeking teaching expertise in one or more of the following subject areas:
- Personality theory
- History of Psychology
- Comparative Psychotherapies
- Research Methods (basic and advanced)
- Psychopharmacology
- Trauma Therapies
- Personality Disorders
Positions are for the Fall 2025, Spring 2026, Summer 2026 terms and beyond. Courses are offered to doctoral and masters students in the department and throughout the College. Both on campus and online assignments are available.
General Responsibilities:
Teach between one and four sections of courses in the Program in Clinical Psychology in face-to-face or online format.
Duties include classroom teaching, creation and distribution of course syllabi, assignments, assessments, and grading.
Informal academic and career advising of students during office hours
Minimum Qualifications:
-Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical, Counseling, or similar degree in a related content field
-Content expertise
-At least two years of prior university teaching experience
-The candidate must be a US citizen or have visa status permitting employment in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
Evidence of successful teaching from a recently taught course
Salary Range:
$6000-$6000
