Posting Summary:
TC's Office of Institutional Advancement is seeking an Administrative Manager to serve as a key operational and strategic support partner to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement (VPIA), and manage the daily activities and workflow of the VPIA's Office.

Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Administrative Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Institutional Advancement (VPIA) and serves as a key operational and strategic support partner; managing the daily activities and workflow of the Office of the Vice President, Institutional Advancement. This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including managing communications, meetings, events, scheduling, project management, prospect management and donor activities, and alumni engagement on behalf of the Vice President. The Administrative Manager also provides crucial support for all board of trustees activities and serves as the Vice President’s primary liaison to internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent required
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible administrative or executive support in higher education, or an organization with similar complexities
  • Previous experience in higher education or institutional advancement
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Highest level of professionalism and ability to tactfully and effectively communicate with Teachers College and Columbia University senior leadership and the board of trustees
  • Strong organizational and follow-through abilities with outstanding attention to detail
  • Experience working both independently and strategically as part of a team in a complex setting
  • Judgement to know when to escalate issues to the Vice President
  • Established commitment to higher education
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and experience handling highly confidential information
  • Demostrates proactiveness, a positive approach, and adaptability to changing priorities
  • Availability to work four days per week in office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prospect management or sales experience including coordination of proposals, contact reports, information delivery, and pipeline forecast
  • Project management experience
  • Proficiency in Raiser's Edge or similar CRM

Salary Range:

75,000-85,000

Onsite
