Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Summer Principals Academy-New Orleans (SPA-NOLA) is seeking an Assistant Director for Recruitment and External Relations. As part of the SPA-NOLA Program, the Assistant Director is responsible for the overall integrity and administrative management of the program implementation. This entails continuous communication with the Director of the SPA-NOLA Program, and involvement in all aspects of the program including admissions, marketing and promotion, recruitment, program management, financial oversight, alumni relationships, programming, and adjunct faculty support. The AD will be assisting the Director with budget development and management, and external fundraising. This position serves as a key resource to faculty, staff, prospective and current students, and to external agencies and constituents. In this role, the Assistant Director will report to the SPA-NOLA Director.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designing and delivering high-caliber professional development sessions for district and building leaders nationally and internationally
  • Publishing simulated case studies, research articles, and conference presentations
  • Leveraging personal and professional school districts and building leader networks for SPA-NOLA strategic partnerships and recruitment
  • Supervising Graduate Student Researchers, SPA-NOLA partners, and consulting facilitators of SPA-NOLA programming
  • Manage information/database and budget
  • Coordinate programs, recruitment, and reporting
  • Strategic planning & Advisory Board management
  • Support research, case design, and multimedia simulation platform. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Education Leadership or similar field of study
  •  Experience designing professional development sessions for education leaders
  •  Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively about program development
  •  Research knowledge including research design, and methodology (focus group experience will be key)
  •  IRB certification
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: both oral and written
  •  Strong customer-service orientation
  •  Task-oriented with a proven ability to obtain results
  •  Excellent follow-up, organizational, and time management skills; work with deadlines and possess ability to prioritize and handle simultaneous demands
  •  Flexible work schedule
  •  Willingness to travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate preferred
  • Knowledgeable of higher education institutions and culture, particularly in academic and student affairs
  • 6-8 years of work experience in an urban school or district setting experience
  • Strategic thinking and strategic data analysis abilities
  • Web experience

Salary Range:

$59,000 - $70,000

Work Modality:

Onsite
