Posting Summary:
The Office of Human Resources is seeking a Talent Management Project Assistant, who must be eligible for federal work study funding (approved via the Teachers College Office of Financial Aid). The Talent Management Project Assistant will work closely with the HR team and report to the Sr. HR Business Partner and Talent Management Lead. You will assist the Teachers College workforce by providing continuous support with learning and development opportunities.

This position requires a commitment of a minimum of 15 hours/week.

Job Summary/Basic Function:

Reporting to the Sr. HR Business Partner and Talent Management Lead, the Talent Management Project Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Talent Management functions within the Human Resources Department. The incumbent will provide the highest quality of service to students, faculty and staff, vendors, and prospective employees. This position is not remote.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with the design and development of learning materials and training curricula for Teachers College’s leadership development programs, performance management cycle, and other ongoing projects
  • Assist with the design and coordination of virtual and in-person training workshops and team sessions
  • Conduct research and analysis on talent management trends, HR technology, best practices, benchmarks, and provide recommendations for improvement and innovation. Including assessing employee development needs and defining appropriate resources and processes to support learning
  • Provide admin support to the HR team as needed
  • Support the Talent Management team in developing and maintaining a positive and inclusive organizational culture that fosters employee engagement, performance, and retention.

*Only U.S. Citizens and eligible non-citizens are eligible for this position.

Scheduling
Student work schedules are based on the needs of the department and the student’s academic schedule. Students should discuss their schedules with the hiring manager/supervisor during the interview process. Hiring managers/supervisors will make every attempt to accommodate students’ needs.

Work Limitations
During the academic year, students may not hold appointments or any combination of appointments totaling more than 27 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to problem-solve and organize work in an efficient manner which results in completed projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, skilled in PowerPoint design or similar presentation software.
  • Must have been awarded federal work-study for the term in which a work-study position is being sought
  • Must be a TC student currently enrolled in a degree program and taking at least 5 credits
  • Must be able to abide by Teachers College academic and personnel policies and guidelines, including FERPA, Student Confidentiality
  • Agreement and the Student Privacy Requirements
    Excellent computer skills, experienced in Windows, Excel, Microsoft Word, canva, canvas
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn project planning software
  • Detail- oriented, excellent organizational skills, an ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
  • Ability to work events as requested
  • Must be able to abide by the Student Confidentiality Agreement
  • Must be able to abide by the Student Privacy Requirements
  • Ability to complete assigned projects with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Master's Degree program related to Social & Organizational Psychology, Adult Learning Methodologies, Learning Technologies, Organizational Development, or a related field
  • A desire to build a career in the Talent Management space
  • Knowledge of Talent Management principles, practices, and trends
  • An interest in learning skills in facilitation and presenting
  • Excited about the opportunity to design leadership programs
