Purpose of the role
The Compliance Manager helps to ensure that Youi meets its legal, regulatory, and industry requirements in a commercially effective way. The role involves managing obligations and alerts, supporting the Compliance Framework, undertaking compliance impact assessments and breach reporting, providing training and liaising with stakeholders. It also includes contributing to strategic initiatives, supporting executive reporting, and performing other compliance tasks as needed.
Key priorities
- Monitor, interpreting and assigning obligations and managing Youi’s Obligations Register, processing alerts and completing regulatory impact assessments and managing the process for compliance attestations.
- Supporting the maintenance and enhance of Youi’s Compliance Management Framework and associated policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure an awareness and management of their obligations and providing quality and timely advice.
- Undertake compliance impact assessments and breach reporting.
- Promote a strong compliance culture
- Support strategic compliance initiatives.
- Uphold Youi’s values and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies.
About you
Experience & Knowledge:
- Tertiary qualification in Law, Commerce, Business, Risk, Finance, or a related field.
- 5–8 years’ compliance experience in financial services, ideally with regulatory experience.
- Strong knowledge of Australian laws, regulations, and compliance frameworks as applicable to a general insurer.
- Understanding of Enterprise Risk Management.
- Proven stakeholder and relationship management skills.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading ability.
- Effective time management and multitasking capability.
- Commercially minded, adaptable, and proactive in identifying risks and opportunities.
- High integrity, professionalism, and commitment to ongoing development.
Ways of working
Youi offers a hybrid working model:
Work from the office Tuesday to Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
Location Options – Sippy Downs & Fortitude Valley
This role can be based at either our Headquarters in Sippy Downs or our Fortitude Valley office. If based in Brisbane, you’ll be required to work from the Sippy Downs head office at least once a week.
