The Village Café & Bar Cook is responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality meals in accordance with food safety regulations, dietary requirements, and café standards.

They will work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, ensuring consistency, taste and presentation to meet customer expectations. The Cook will also assist with stock management, kitchen cleanliness, and compliance with health and safety guidelines.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • General food preparation
    • breakfast
    • signature Pizzas
    • salads

 

  • Ensure all dishes are presented in an appealing and appetizing manner
  • Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Manage inventory and notify Café Manager of any supplies that require ordering
  • Kitchen maintenance and cleaning
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation
  • Handle customer feedback and special requests professionally and in a problem- solving mindset
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with food safety regulations and Business expectations on presentation of the Café
  • Assist in opening and closing duties as required
  • Adhere to uniform policy

Hours of Work

Our café operates 7 days a week

  • We are looking for someone that is available to work weekday afternoon/ evenings & weekends

Things that matter to us

  • Cert III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) (desired)
  • Previous experience in a kitchen (cafés, restaurants, pubs, or catering)
  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene practices and kitchen safety standards
  • Working with Children Check
  • NDIS check (includes Police Check)
  • Eligibility to work in Australia
  • Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations (3 doses)
