Under the general direction of the Head Football Coach, this coach will assist with the responsibilities of the NCAA D-III football program in accordance and compliance with NCAA, NCAC, and Kenyon College policies and regulations. The Assistant Football Coach will work in conjunction with the head coach to fulfill the following responsibilities: coaching student athletes, mentoring intern coaches, scouting opponents, recruiting various territories, tracking equipment and developing alumni contacts. Under the general direction of the Director of Athletics Communications, the Assistant is responsible for promoting the College’s twenty-three varsity athletics programs, as well as fitness and recreation programs, through written, verbal and electronic communications. Primary duties include overseeing the upkeep of the Athletics Department’s website, writing press releases and game summaries, compiling in-game statistics, editing and maintaining photos and videos, documenting history and records, and cultivating communication with coaches, administrators, student-athletes and media. The Assistant Director of Athletics Communications will also help maintain the College’s athletics social media platforms and play an important operations role in live game coverage, including handling video streams, audio broadcasts and in-game statistics. In addition to office hours, the Assistant Director of Athletics Communications will be expected to work evenings and weekends, as required, and will travel to cover Kenyon’s teams when necessary. Other duties may be added with the addition of new technologies and expectations within the field. The Student Data Specialist serves the College by responding to requests of students, faculty, alumni as well as offices all over campus, making this person a front-line representative. Data entered by this position cascades throughout the work of the Registrar's Office and beyond, making accuracy and efficient completion of the work essential to success. This position works closely with each team member as well other offices and academic departments. Essential Functions
Coordinate student petitions
Manage the transcript ordering system and fulfillment of all transcript requests.
Answer the office main phone line in a professional manner.
Make changes to student schedules based on policies and timing. Answer student questions at the front counter and advise students about academic policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred or 5-7 years professional office experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
Keyboarding skills- 55-60 wpm minimum and use of a multi-line phone system.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and Google products and experience using a student information system is highly desirable.
Ability to stand for extended periods; lift and carry 30 lbs. unassisted. |

This position is funded through a Research at Undergraduate Institutions (RUI) grant from the NSF to study controlled polymer degradation. The immediate goal of our program is synthesis and characterization of linear and cyclic polyesters via ring-opening polymerization of commercially available and novel lactones using coordination compounds. Several variants of the novel lactones are in hand on multi-gram scales and their syntheses are well developed. Initial conditions for polymerization of commercially available monomers are established. This position designed for those intending to pursue graduate studies in synthetic chemistry. |
