Kenyon College invites applications for the position of Administrative Assistant for the Department of Athletics, Fitness, and Recreation. This is an eleven-month, non-exempt staff position with benefits and the hourly rate of pay is $15.53.
The Administrative Assistant provides support to the Department of Athletics, Fitness and Recreation by serving at the Information/Welcome Desk and assisting in the operational and administrative needs of the department. This position helps to manage department calendars, team rosters, game contracts, and hiring processes and coordinates many of the department’s large events. Providing assistance to department personnel, this position maintains the internal operational policies and procedures and assists the Compliance Coordinator with NCAA and NCAC compliance needs.

The Administrative Assistant for the Department of Athletics, Fitness and Recreation in the Division of Student Affairs reports to the Director of Athletics and supports the mission of the College in its focus on student development, outcomes and success. This is an eleven (11) month position with benefits.
Essential Functions:
- Serve a majority of time at the Information/Welcome Desk of the Lowry Center.
- Assist with managing reservations for the Lowry Center.
- Provide administrative support for employee searches, onboarding, and “outboarding” within the department.
- Assist in managing student-athlete and staff compliance forms and sport rosters.
- Coordinate Special Events and assist with host operations for NCAA & NCAC competitions.
- Provide administrative support for student-athlete recruiting and varsity contests.
- Maintain out-of-office calendar and departmental meeting schedule.
- Maintain and distribute department policies and procedures.
- Provide assistance to Lowry Center personnel as needed.
Other Expectations:
- Serve as a member of the Athletics, Fitness and Recreation team, responsible for providing leadership, goals, and program implementation at a fully residential campus housing 1800 undergraduate students.
- Develop and maintain mutually supportive and collaborative working relationships with student affairs colleagues, faculty, and other campus partners to accomplish shared objectives and tasks.
- Lead and assist with designated departmental, divisional, and/or College committees, initiatives and processes.
- Develop meaningful connections with students, staff and faculty by being available and visible on campus.
- Assist with special projects and duties, as needed.
- Demonstrate a commitment to and compliance with the College’s and Department of Athletics, Fitness and Recreation policies and procedures as well as the North Coast Athletic Conference and NCAA constitutions, bylaws, legislation and regulations.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the Department of Athletics’ policies and procedures as well as the mission of the department, the division, and the College.

Working Conditions:
The position is 35 hours per week (7 hours per day) for 11 months. The typical work day is 8 am - 4 pm. Some evening and weekend hours might be requested. Light lifting is expected.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma is required; Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
- Experience in event management or organization is ideal.
